The Brief
St Thomas More Catholic Primary School faced an urgent challenge when one of their existing modular buildings was condemned. Recognising the critical need for a safe and modern learning environment, Hawker Construction Limited swiftly responded to the school's requirements. Our team efficiently managed the demolition of the unsafe structure and replaced it with a state-of-the-art modular library and classroom space.
The project presented unforeseeen challenges, including issues with an existing gas service that caused a 9-week delay, and the need to relocate an existing manhole to ensure proper foundation construction. Despite these obstacles and tight working space, the Hawker team demonstrated exceptional problem-solving skills and adaptability.
The Solution
The new facility, comprising 5 bays, was meticulously designed, manufactured , and installed by our expert team. Although the timeline was extended due to the unexpected issues, Hawker Construction successfully delivered and commissioned the new classroom block, ensuring a high-quality, safe learning space for the students. This project not only showcases our ability to meet urgent educational needs and overcome complex site challenges but also demonstrated our commitment to providing superior learning environments for growing communities.
